About Us
Our Story
Stella was started by Michael Lair and his parents Pete and Phyllis. We opened our doors on July 28th, 2018 and we were welcomed by Aggieland with open arms. Stella isn’t here to sell biscuits. We are here to serve this community. We want to be the place that fosters moments that turn into memories and shared meals that turn into lasting friendships. Our core principles are pretty simple but they direct everything we do –
Love people – everybody that walks in our doors provides us with a chance to be the best part of their day
Get the best ingredients possible and don’t screw them up – We source locally when possible and always seek out the best ingredients and look for ways to let those ingredients shine.
Be Better Everyday – However good we were yesterday we want to be even better today. Our goal is to provide a work environment where everyone is learning all the time, growing all the time and becoming better prepared for whatever life has in store for them next.
Food is a powerful thing. So much of our lives and so many of our memories center around the table. Stella exists to be that place, to provide that food that brings people together. Sure, we want to be the best breakfast you’ve ever had and we’re gonna work our butts off towards that end but, more than that, we want to be the backdrop to great stories, the excuse you use to get together with friends, or that special spot for your daddy daughter breakfast.
“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts” (Acts 2:46b)

FAQ's About Your Next Visit
Q: What should I expect when I arrive?
A: Southern hospitality and fantastic food, of course!
Please remain with your entire party in line until you have ordered. We will assist you with finding a table once you reach our registers. We are a first come, first served restaurant, meaning guests who are at the counter ordering have priority over the available tables. We do not allow “table holding” of any kind. Folks holding a table prior to ordering will kindly be asked to return to their party in line.
Our line moves quickly, and we will take great care of you! Trust us, we do this every day- no need to stress over finding a table!
Q: Do you take reservations or have a party room I can reserve?
A: We are a first come, first served restaurant and do not accept reservations or have a walk-up waitlist. This works to your advantage- it keeps our line moving quickly and efficiently without “holding” tables for guests who haven’t arrived or haven’t ordered yet!
We do not have a private dining room or offer evening events or private rentals.
Q: Will my large party (over 8) be able to sit together?
A: Due to limited seating space (we are a small restaurant!), we cannot guarantee parties larger than 8 will be seated together, however we will do everything we can to accommodate your party! Much of this will be dependant on occupied tables and capacity. Please ensure your entire party is together prior to reaching our counter to order and be seated for maximum efficiency!
Dog Policy
Dogs are not allowed at Stella Southern Cafe. There are many restrictions regarding allowing dogs on the patio of a restaurant from the health department, and being a restaurant with a very limited patio space, we cannot meet these safety requirements. This includes the grassy area surrounding the patio- we cannot allow any dogs on the restaurant property.
Please know due to these health code restrictions, we will be required to ask anyone with a pet to leave or take their food to-go. We are happy to offer curbside to-go orders if you are traveling from out of town with a pet, and can suggest either Capps Dog Park (2.9 miles) or Steeplechase Dog Park (3.1 miles) to take your food and enjoy the company of your pet while eating.
We allow TRAINED SERVICE ANIMALS in accordance with the ADA. The dog MUST be TRAINED to perform a specific job or task to assist it's owner; as per the ADA, emotional support animals are assistant animals and DO NOT fit this requirement. The dog must also be UNDER CONTROL of it's owner AT ALL TIMES. Any dog that is disruptive (including but not limited to barking unrelated to a medical alert , jumping on guests/staff and/or tables/chairs, eating food off the table, etc.) will be asked to leave. It is illegal in the state of Texas to falsely declare a pet or assistant animal as a service animal. Please note our staff is trained to ask the approved questions as determined by the ADA if you arrive with a trained service animal.
